Youth Counselor

Youth counselors are responsible for providing supervision, guidance, mentoring, and direction to residents in residential treatment facilities, while maintaining the safety and security of residents and the facility. They must also collaborate on behavioral goals and maintain electronic health records documenting resident progress.

Candidates must have either a bachelor's or associate's degree in a human services related field, or a high school diploma with at least two years of youth work experience, and must be at least 21 years old. Additional requirements include basic computer skills, a valid driver's license, and passing criminal and child abuse history clearances.
