Orientation and Mobility Specialist

The specialist will work directly with eligible consumers who are legally blind or visually impaired to help them obtain necessary services and adaptive equipment to maximize their independence and well-Being. Responsibilities also include conducting ongoing assessments, establishing clear safety goals, coordinating with support services, developing comprehensive care plans or ieps, and maintaining required documentation.

Candidates must possess a master's degree or a bachelor's degree along with o&m certification from an aer-Approved university program, coupled with two to three years of relevant experience. Aer certification in orientation & mobility is mandatory, as is having a valid new york state driver's license or access to reliable transportation.
