Special Education Teacher, [PreK Full Day DD; 2026-27 SY]

The special education teacher coordinates and provides direct instructional programs for students with disabilities based on their individual education programs (Ieps), monitoring progress and maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Essential duties include developing and implementing ieps, employing various teaching methods and accommodations, monitoring student behavior, and collaborating with teams during iep meetings.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for a north carolina professional educator’s license in an exceptional children’s teaching area, excluding gifted education. Required knowledge includes instructional practices for specially designed instruction, curriculum standards, and state/Federal policies governing services for students with disabilities.
