Special Education Teacher – North Carolina | School-Based Opportunity

Looking to grow your career in a role that truly makes a difference? We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Special Education Teacher to join a North Carolina school district for the current academic year.

In this position, you will deliver individualized instruction and targeted support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring access to the general education curriculum. You will design, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), using data-driven practices to monitor progress and support meaningful student growth.

Collaboration is a key component of this role. You will work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to create consistent, supportive learning environments. Through differentiated instruction and evidence-based strategies, you will help students build confidence, independence, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and progress reports. Monitor student progress through ongoing data collection and analysis. Participate in evaluations, team meetings, and multidisciplinary planning. Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with student goals. Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive classroom practices. Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education. Experience in resource, inclusion, or self-contained classroom settings preferred. Valid North Carolina teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain).
