The Support Teacher assists the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, nurturing Waldorf-inspired classroom environment and provides academic and social-emotional guidance to students. Responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, supervising students during transitions and recess, and facilitating classroom activities in the Lead Teacher's absence.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and possess Waldorf Teacher Certification or equivalent experience. Applicants are required to demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion, maintain current First Aid/CPR certification, and pass all necessary background checks.
To support the Lead Teacher (Class Teacher or Subject Teacher) in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment rooted in Waldorf pedagogy, while assisting in daily rhythms, transitions, and tasks assigned in support of the lesson content.
30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional time for faculty meetings, parent meetings, school festivals, and events. Faculty are expected to be on campus two weeks before the school year begins and two weeks following the end of the school year. Teachers are also expected to be reachable by the Area Chair via phone or email during school vacations and the summer months.
