Job Description

  • We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach varied subjects related to the field of Dental Assisting in our Dental Assisting Program.
  • This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Program Director.
  • The primary responsibility will be to teach Dental Assisting courses in class, online, and in the lab setting.
  • The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with varied hours needed for class preparation.
  • Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director, and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required
  • Certification:
  • DANB RHS
  • RDA and/or
  • CDA
  • At least three years of experience as a Dental Assistant chairside
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven
  • Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience preferred
