Essential Position Functions

● Present school counseling classroom lessons ● Provide short-term counseling with students and referrals for long-term support ● Provide counseling (group, such as lunch bunch, or individual) to teach intervention strategies to increase academic success, conflict resolution, anger management or adjustment to school ● Collaborate with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success ● Advocate for students at student support meetings and other student-focused meetings ● Mobilize family, school, and community resources to enable students to learn as effectively as possible at school ● Collaborate with staff and the Resource Team to help students through direct support, in-services, or behavior management ● Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, consulting on serious events, and developing individual safety plans for students in need

Preference will be given to applicants with the following

● Illinois PEL School Support Endorsement ● Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) ● Licensed Social Worker (LSW) ● Psychology license ● Experience in a school setting

Education Required Master's or better in social work or related field.

This position has an annualized salary range of $40,000.00 - $50,000.00. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
