Special Education Teacher, Extended Content Standards I

Coordinates and provides direct instructional programs for special education students while developing and implementing individual education programs (Ieps). Monitors student progress, maintains classroom discipline, and collaborates with school staff and families to ensure educational needs are met.

Requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and a valid north carolina professional educator’s license in an exceptional children’s teaching area. Candidates must also hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and demonstrate knowledge of federal and state special education policies.
