About Eden Christian Academy Eden Christian Academy is the largest non-denominational, coeducational Christian school in the greater Pittsburgh area, serving students in Preschool through Grade 12 across three campuses. Our mission is to equip students to think and act biblically as they pursue academic excellence and Christ-centered lives.

We are seeking spiritually grounded and experienced educators to join our Upper School Campuses.

Position Overview

The Upper School Spanish Teacher has the responsibility of directing the academic, spiritual, social and emotional development of students. Eden seeks to provide an exceptional education and a challenge to engage the mind and heart of each student to think and act with Christ-like character.

This is a full-time, 10 month role based in Pittsburgh, PA, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Ensure a sound educational environment in the classroom, which adheres to the standard based core curriculum Integrate Biblical and mission-aligned truths throughout each of the courses in written materials and oral and written instructions to students Assess student academic progress, tailor lessons and provide additional resources, when needed Lead in prayer with students and assist in their spiritual development Partner with parents to ensure a proper education both inside and outside of the classroom Establish an environment for learning that displays proper discipline both in the classroom and on school premises. Attend and participate in professional development to further develop teaching skills Collaborate with campus principal and fellow educators to support student success and promote personal and professional growth Follow all educational and operational policies

Qualifications

Spiritual & Mission Alignment Committed follower of Jesus Christ, active in a Bible-believing evangelical church Agreement with Eden’s Statement of Faith and philosophy of Christian education Professional Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Spanish or related field Teaching experience preferred, specifically experience teaching Spanish K-12 Spanish certification preferred ACSI certification (or willingness to obtain) Skills & Competencies Excellent communication, team-building, and interpersonal skills Familiarity with instructional technology and current educational trends Proficient in tools such as Gmail, Word, Excel, Google Drive, Canva, etc. Physical & Administrative Requirements Must be able to navigate school campuses, including stairs Able to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally Capable of supervising and engaging students and faculty throughout the day Must provide current PA employment clearances (FBI, Child Abuse, State Police) Why Join Eden?
