- We are seeking a Medical Assistant Training Coach to join our team and help strengthen our onboarding, training, and competency development programs.
- Job Summary The Medical Assistant Training Coach partners with our Learning and Operations teams to deliver an exceptional, connected onboarding and training experience for new and existing team members.
- This role is responsible for leading practical skills training using an organized, competency-based model.
- The Training Coach supports a variety of learners—including new hires, internal transfers, and team members requiring additional coaching—ensuring they develop the critical thinking skills, confidence, and clinical competencies needed for success.
- This role also supports Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through patient care, operational tasks, and communication.
- Required Education Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or RMA certification required High school diploma or equivalent required Required Work Experience Medical Assistant experience preferred (for MA program graduates) OR 2+ years of direct patient care experience within the last 3 years Training or related experience required Experience using an EHR required Urgent care experience required Licenses & Certifications One of the following is required: CCMA (NHA) CMA (AAMA) RMA (AMT or AAH) NCMA (NCCT) NRCMA (NAHP) OR one of the following accepted at time of hire: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (LPN/RN) EMT (National Registry) CNA Additional Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Required) Proficiency in medical terminology Clinical competency in POCT, vitals, and lab procedures Strong Microsoft Office skills Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Strong organizational skills Essential Functions Teach and evaluate clinical skill competencies using approved methods Conduct orientation for centers, departments, and the organization Train team members to required levels of clinical competence Host Learning Coach Workshops as needed Serve as backup to Training Specialists and complete training documentation Invest 72–120 dedicated training hours for up to 6 team members Support learners with varied schedules (Per Diem, Temp, etc.) Provide in‑center coaching on core competencies Deliver hands‑on market‑specific training (new hire training, refreshers, updates, annual competencies) Conduct monthly BLS classes Maintain compliance with annual N95 fit testing Partner with Training Specialists and Learning leaders for quality improvement Perform 30/60/90‑day training check‑ins Track and manage Core Competency Checklist completion Provide timely performance feedback and escalate issues as needed Travel to centers within assigned markets Support operations when training demand is low Participate in national training support efforts Attend mandatory meetings on behalf of Training Specialists as needed Operational Responsibilities: Conduct patient registration and insurance verification Process co‑pays and schedule appointments Coordinate referrals Support patient communication and flow Prepare patients for exams and take vitals Perform point-of-care testing Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment Manage medical records and scanning Support front desk operations, phone calls, and mail Conduct patient callback follow-ups Maintain reception and clinical area readiness Set up email alerts as new job postings become available that meet your interest!
