- Opportunity: Chelsea Piers Sky Rink is hiring Summer Camp Counselors (June 15 – September 4) for our sports camps in Manhattan, serving kids from preschool age and up. Our counselors are the heart of the camp experience — creating a safe, fun environment where kids grow their skills and love of sports. It's a meaningful summer role and a great way to launch a career at one of NYC's most iconic sports destinations. Counselors must be over the age of 16 and available for at least six weeks of the summer and/or work the full month of August. Counselors are required to attend orientation June 10th - June 12th. Primary Responsibilities Help plan, lead, and implement camp sports activities for children ages 3 to 14 Maintain a safe, engaging, and fun environment at all times Demonstrate enthusiasm and encouragement to our campers Escort campers throughout daily activities Set up and break down equipment Assist campers with lunch, bathroom breaks, and everything camp related Maintain a professional attitude at all times Be a role model for our campers Supervise all camper activities, including bus duties, ensuring the wellbeing of campers throughout the day Work with other camp staff, coaches, and instructors
- QualificationsAbout
- You: You are over the age of 16 and are punctual, friendly, and motivated. You have experience with and love working with children.
- You also have: Ability to work in a team environment Ability to be flexible and rise above stressful situations while remaining positive and energetic Ability to meet physical demands of the job Athletic ability and a love of being active Neat and well-groomed appearance Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, which may include exposure to cold temperatures, ice surfaces, and water.)
