Ensure the safety of pool patrons through constant surveillance, rule enforcement, and rapid emergency response. Perform pool opening/closing duties and general maintenance of the pool and locker room areas.
Candidates must possess strong swimming skills and be able to pass a lifeguard certification class. Ability to perform First Aid and CPR and pass a criminal background check is required.
Ability360 provides classes and programs at a City of Phoenix Park, Telephone Pioneer Park. The classes, programs, and pool will be open to Abiltiy360 members only. Lifeguards must ensure the safety of the patrons in the pool area by taking preventative measures such as enforcing rules, recognizing and reacting quickly and efficiently to emergencies, maintaining constant surveillance, conducting regular pool safety checks, and providing emergency care to patrons in need.
Work schedule requires some flexibility, is dependent upon program needs and will include the following months, dates, and times: June-August, Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays 8am-12pm.
Must be able to swim and pass a lifeguard certification class. Ability360 will certify if one can show strong swim skills.
A criminal background check will be conducted, but conviction is not an absolute bar to employment.
Pressures and stress of the position include: dealing with challenging situations, working outdoors for multiple hours in the summer, and dealing with medical emergencies.
This position may require the lifting of 20-50 pounds.
