Participants will complete a two-year surgical technician program while working as a per diem operating room technician. Upon graduation, they will transition into a full-time surgical technician role within the Guthrie system.
Candidates must be accepted into Lackawanna College and have completed a college science course within the last two years. Applicants must commit to a per diem role during the program and a three-year post-graduation employment commitment.
Guthrie would like to announce we have partnered with Lackawanna College to sponsor select students in a two year surgical technician program and are now accepting applications. Limited sponsored spaces will be available for the upcoming August 2025 class. If you are selected and successfully complete the program you will be placed in a full time surgical technician role. Openings will be available across the Guthrie system in Pennsylvania.
This program is for anyone not currently a surgical technician.
