Collaborates and co-teaches daily with other educator and specialists in the planning, adapting, and teaching of the general education curriculum for all learners. Plans and implements motivating and creative age-appropriate lessons and activities to address goals as outlined in each students’ IEP. Collaborates with other teachers and therapists to implement an integrated educational/ therapeutic model. Creates a learning environment where the students are stimulated and motivated to work to their best potential. Meeting Street believes the dignity of each person is paramount. The position requires certification by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) as a Special Education Teacher.
