Job description

Sheppard Pratt is hiring Speech Language Pathologist Clinical Fellows. Current openings include the Sheppard Pratt School in Gaithersburg. Under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist, the Clinical Fellow plays a crucial role in identifying, assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, voice, fluency, hearing, and language disorders in the student population. What to expect.

Under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist, the Clinical Fellow will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students identified as needing support.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Identifying, assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, voice, fluency, hearing, and language disorders in our student population
  • Providing individual and group therapy tailored to the developmental needs of students and complete quality documentation
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Developing and presenting speech-language programs for staff development and training.
  • Staying current with advances in speech pathology and special education techniques, especially in school-based settings.

The pay range for this position is $58,401.82 minimum to $90,195.04 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.

  • What we need from you.
  • A master’s degree in speech pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Must demonstrate eligibility for limited licensure as a speech-language pathologist fellow by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at time of appointment and once obtained, must maintain licensure continuously throughout tenure in position.
  • Clinical Fellows are responsible for completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and taking all necessary steps to obtain full state licensure promptly upon meeting requirements.
