  • Function: Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.
  • Job duties include, but are not limited to: Reports to the Director of Nursing Acts as the clinical instructor for nursing students at community-based clinical experience Hours and day of the week schedule may vary from semester to semester, up to a maximum of 19 hours per week. College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university with at least (6) graduate semester hours in nursing content appropriate to specific teaching responsibility. Current and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Texas Up-to-date immunizations and annual TB screening Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check Three (3) years of non-teaching work experience in the field Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods Excellent written and oral communication skills Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration Desirable Qualifications: Master’s of Science in Nursing
