Range: $32.97 - $38.46 HourlyJob Summary The Program Counselor for the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) supports student success in the Yonkers School District by providing academic counseling, mentoring, and social-emotional learning (SEL) development. This role delivers non-clinical counseling support through individual and group sessions, helping students build self-advocacy, organization, and goal-setting skills. The Program Counselor also promotes college and career readiness while ensuring increased student engagement, skill development, and progress toward academic and post-secondary goals. Key Responsibilities
Provide academic support, mentoring, and study skills development to students
Facilitate small group sessions focused on social-emotional learning (SEL), conflict resolution, and goal setting
Support students in developing organization, time management, and self-advocacy skills
Conduct outreach and recruit students for participation in the program
Introduce students to college and career pathways through workshops and enrichment activities
Track and maintain attendance for student participation and program events
Coordinate logistics for trips, workshops, and enrichment activities
Conduct outreach to students and families to encourage consistent participation
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and staff to support student needs
Present program information to students, families, and school staff
Attend and support occasional evening events such as parent-teacher nights, financial aid workshops, and college admission events
Ensure all student data and documentation are accurate, complete, and submitted on time QualificationsQualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required
Experience: No prior experience required; candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to student success, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role
