The School Clinic Assistant provides basic health care, first aid, and medication administration to students during the school day. They also maintain health records, monitor communicable diseases, and support overall wellness for students and staff.
Candidates should have clinical experience and maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications. The role requires a commitment to the school's Christian mission and the physical ability to perform light work including lifting up to 20 pounds.
and Duties Caring for the health of students Administers basic health care and first aid for purpose of providing appropriate care to students Following established protocols and recognizing when an event outside of those procedures requires escalation Responds to student illness, injury, and medical emergencies during the school day Works with faculty and staff to implement healthcare directions from parents and physicians Maintains students health records, emergency information, and documentation in physical and electronic systems Maintains timely and appropriate communication with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns Assists with communicable disease monitoring and reporting in accordance with public health requirements and school policies. Participates in students health programs and activities including hearing, vision, and immunization compliance screenings. Maintains clinic supplies and basic medications necessary for daily health office operations Prepares first aid kits for field trips and school activities Assists with Hospitality Coordinator duties if necessary Attends school activities or programs as noted on the staff calendar Gives generously of time in order to foster relationships with students Speaks the truth in love to students, colleagues, and administrators
Qualifications and Skills Character and Disposition Loves learning and loves children Actively engaged in the life of the local Church Committed to professional growth Excellent professional judgement and discernment Ability to follow protocols Passionate about the mission and vision of The Ecclesial School Experience and Education Clinical experience preferred Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications and continuing education Experience in cross-cultural communication Clinical and protocol training provided ADA Compliance Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (l2-20 pounds). Sensory Requirements: Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds. Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease or pathogenic substances.
