Waubonsee Community College invites applications for a part-time instructor position for Developmental English (Integrated Reading and Writing) courses.

• Adjunct Faculty are tasked with providing high-quality instruction and assessing student learning through both formative and summative methods.
• This role requires a professional with exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively utilize instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Reporting to the Dean, Adjunct Faculty will prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments tailored to different learning styles, ensuring that students meet course objectives and outcomes.
• They will incorporate learner-centered principles and motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational experience.
• Adjunct Faculty are also responsible for evaluating student performance and maintaining timely and accurate records, including attendance verifications, academic progress, and final course grades.

• Successful Adjunct Faculty adopt a holistic approach to student success, bringing passion and enthusiasm to the classroom.
• They collaborate effectively with students and colleagues, and work constructively with individuals from diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities.
• They demonstrate sensitivity to and the ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Applicants must have experiences and availability (in-person) teaching the following courses: ENG 085 Basic Integrated Reading and Writing & ENG 095 Integrated Reading and Writing (Bridge Program) from 6/15-8/6- 2026 at the Sugar Grove Campus from 8:30-11:15 a.m.

ENG 085 Basic Integrated Reading from 5/26-8/7/2026 at the DWNTN Aurora Campus at 11:00-2:15 TTH Minimum Experience Bachelors Degree in English, English Education or Reading from an accredited college REQUIRED. Competency in technologies commonly used in college level instruction (canvas & zoom). Experience teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online.
