About the Role

Teachers at The Excel Center lead a student‑centered, flexible learning environment designed for adult learners with diverse academic backgrounds. You will meet students where they are—adapting instruction to support individual learning needs and helping them stay engaged, motivated, and on track to graduate.

This role combines instruction, mentorship, and collaboration in a team‑based environment focused on student success.

  • What you’ll do
  • Deliver engaging instruction aligned with Maryland Academic Standards
  • Design and implement lessons using a mix of instructional strategies, including small group, one‑on‑one, and blended/online learning
  • Create and administer assessments to measure student progress and mastery
  • Track attendance and academic performance data to adjust instruction and improve outcomes
  • Support students across varying skill levels with individualized learning approaches
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to improve curriculum, retention, and school culture
  • Communicate student progress regularly with students and team members
  • Partner with staff to support student graduation and post‑secondary planning
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school‑wide initiatives

  • What we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in subject area required
  • Maryland Teaching License (MSDE)required
  • Candidates eligible for provisional certification may be considered
