Position Overview RISE Academy is hiring a full-time Homeroom Elementary Teacher (Kindergarten–6th grade) for the 2026–2027 school year at our San Jose Campus. We’re looking for a mission-aligned educator who builds a respectful, joyful, and structured classroom culture and delivers strong instruction through inquiry-based and experiential learning aligned with our STREAM model (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Math).
What You’ll Do Create and deliver engaging daily instruction aligned to the school’s academic program and STREAM approach Build a safe, culturally responsive, nurturing classroom where students love learning Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles Use formative and summative assessments to track progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction/interventions Support student growth across intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social domains Communicate regularly and effectively with families and maintain strong home–school partnership Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning and professional development Support student case management and maintain required documentation (including IEP-related supports when applicable) Contribute to school culture by supporting events, community outreach, and other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Relevant experience working with children in an elementary/lower school setting or a comparable youth instructional setting Alignment with RISE Academy’s mission and comfort working in a faith-based environment Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, and best practices in elementary education Commitment to inquiry-based, project-based, and experiential learning Ability to differentiate instruction and support a wide range of learners Experience using student data and multiple assessment methods to guide instruction and interventions Effective classroom management and ability to establish consistent routines and expectations Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills (students, families, and staff) Willingness to reflect on practice, respond to feedback, and continuously improve Comfortable using technology and classroom tools (email, internet, documents/spreadsheets, printers/projectors, etc.)
Master’s degree in Education, Child Development, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field 2+ years of teaching experience in a formal school setting Valid teaching credential (or progress toward credentialing) Experience designing STREAM-integrated learning experiences
Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 pounds (classroom materials, supplies, furniture, electronics) Ability to stand and move around the classroom/campus for extended periods Frequent computer and keyboard use; operation of classroom/office equipment (printers, copiers, projectors, etc.) Ability to maintain a safe, organized, hazard-free classroom and workstation Occasional evening/weekend work for school events; may include outdoor duties in varying weather conditions Ability to communicate clearly and understand information communicated by others
