Job Summary Pleasant Hill Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and teachable Assistant Teacher Intern to support our preschool classrooms. This internship is ideal for individuals pursuing a future in education, childcare, or ministry who desire hands-on classroom experience in a Christ-centered environment.

This role focuses on learning, growth, and mentorship, while actively assisting teachers with daily classroom activities and student engagement.

Responsibilities

Assist lead teachers with daily classroom routines and transitions Support students with activities, playtime, and basic learning tasks Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Engage with children in a positive, patient, and attentive manner Observe and learn classroom management and teaching strategies Assist with light cleaning (toys, tables, materials) throughout the day Support nap time, snack time, and outdoor play as needed

Qualifications

Interest in education, childcare, or child development Positive attitude and willingness to learn Reliable and punctual with a flexible schedule Patient, nurturing, and able to engage with young children Comfortable working in a Christian, faith-based environment Previous childcare experience is a plus, but not required Schedule / Availability Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM Flexible shifts available Schedules may vary week to week based on classroom needs What You’ll Gain Hands-on classroom experience Mentorship from experienced teachers Exposure to early childhood education in a structured setting Opportunity for future employment based on performance
