  • FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Gymnastics Director, and in accordance with the Association policies set forth by the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County, the Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for leading and demonstrating gymnastics program curriculum to ensure participants development occurs in a fun, healthy, safe environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and carry out class lesson plans. Create an environment that is welcoming and nurturing for all participants. Develop rapport and maintain effective relationships with program participants and their parents. Act as a positive role model using the YMCAs core values of honesty, caring, responsibility, and respect. Conduct and provide participant evaluation during each program session. Secure a substitute instructor when unavailable to lead assigned program. Provide a safe environment for participants. Ensure program equipment and supplies are in good condition. Respond to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Complete incident form when necessary. Distribute necessary program information and be knowledgeable of upcoming program sessions and other YMCA events. Attend and participate in required trainings and staff meetings. Responsible for strict adherence to all YMCA of Greater Waukesha County policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Employee is held responsible for all duties of the job.
  • QualificationsEDUCATION
  • AND
  • EXPERIENCE: Must be at least 15 years of age. One year of previous experience as a gymnast through a club or YMCA program. Ability to demonstrate and verbally articulate instructions for gymnastic movements and skills to the appropriate age group. Must be energetic, motivating, and enjoy working with young children. Strong oral communication skills required.
