Job Overview

Crosspoint Christian Schools is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic High School Assistant Coach to support the development of student-athletes through structured, competitive, and Christ-centered athletic experiences. The Assistant Coach will work alongside the Head Coach to assist with planning, organization, and program management.

As a member of the Gateway OneTeam, you will support and demonstrate an understanding of the church’s mission: Presenting Hope and Developing People. Possessing a character that reflects biblical godliness, demonstrating a meaningful personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local body of Christian believers are key qualifications.

This is an at-will position that may be held in addition to a teaching or other assignment. Compensation is stipend-based and may vary depending on participation numbers.

Responsibilities

and Duties Assists the Head Coach with assigned duties, including: Supports coordination of team tryouts and evaluation of student-athletes Assists in planning and leading practices (typically 4-6 times per week, ~90-120 minutes) Collaborates with coaching staff on skill development, strategy, and game preparation Coordinates with appropriate personnel regarding scheduling, facilities, eligibility, transportation, and game management Assists in the supervision of assistant/volunteer coaches and team support staff, as applicable Communicates effectively with players and supports communication with parents/guardians Serves as a positive role model, demonstrating strong character, leadership, and sportsmanship Helps ensure the safety and well-being of all participants; assists with injury and team records as needed Reinforces compliance with all Crosspoint Christian School policies and expectations Emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, strategy, and understanding of game rules Assists with the management and care of equipment Promotes teamwork, character development, and a positive team culture Adheres to safe coaching and training practices Models a Christ-centered lifestyle and supports the spiritual development of student-athletes

Requirements

Preferred minimum age: 25 (flexible for qualified candidates) Ability to drive the team to games, if needed. Must complete the driving abstract and be approved by the CCS Transportation Department Must meet WIAA compliance requirements (see following) Recommended: Minimum of one (1) year of coaching experience at the high school level. WIAA Compliance Requirements Be employed by Crosspoint Christian Schools. Be a high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma (GED) program. Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic and the WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached. Hold a valid First Aid and CPR Certification. Complete Concussion Recognition and Management with Return to Play Protocols Training (valid for three [3] years). Complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (valid for three [3] years). Completion of a WIAA-approved Coaching Principles course (within the first three [3] years), with recertification every three (3) years thereafter
