  • Job Summary *This is an On-site, Part-Time Position The Youth Soccer Instructor will assist with overall program development of our Soccer for Success programming.
  • This includes, but not limited to, instructing practices, officiating scrimmages, and providing on-site leadership to youth during practices and games.
  • Shift Information Shifts will be at Lake View Elementary School, two afternoons per week, with an approximate shift time of 3:30PM to 5:30PM What you'll get from working at the Y Membership to the YMCA of Greater Seattle Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Retirement with generous employer contributions Free access to mental health resources Rapidly accruing paid time off (PTO) Discounts on qualifying YMCA of Greater Seattle childcare, day camp, overnight camp and outdoor leadership programs 25% for part-time staff, 50% for full-time staff *Some benefits only available to full-time staff Hiring Range: $21.30 - $22/hour

Responsibilities

  • What you'll be doing Instructs programs as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
  • May assist in the development of programming Follow YMCA policies and procedures including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures Increase participant awareness of whole person health.
  • Sets up and takes down class equipment.
  • Reports any equipment needs to supervisor.
  • Accurately maintains related records.
  • Conveys basic information on YMCA programs and schedules to members and, as appropriate, refers members to other YMCA programs and/or staff.
  • Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    • What we're looking for in an applicant At least 16 years of age or older. Six months or more previous experience working with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching. Current state approved first-aid certification
    • Current state approved community CPR certification
    • Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices. *Within 90 days of start date If applicable, "Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered." Preferred Education/Experience Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
