Job description

  • Part time Nanny (live out) required for a Chelsea family with 2 children starting no later than early July 2026.
  • Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general the family is looking for a highly trustworthy, safety-conscious, and dependable caregiver to support their two boys, aged 8 and 4.
  • The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, caring, positive, comfortable maintaining clear boundaries, and proactive in managing the children's active schedules.
  • The parents are looking to partner with another nanny (current nanny is retiring in June after 8 years) who is looking for a long term commitment.
  • The primary focus is to pick up the boys from school (school is within walking distance) and provide engaging after school care - including after school activities, dinner, and evening routine.
  • A candidate who values outdoor time and has energy to sustain busy afternoons with two boys with busy schedules is key to this role!
  • The candidate must have a safety first mindset, be highly organized, naturally proactive and a strong communicator.
  • You will need to be someone who can show initiative and good instincts with daily tasks including managing schedules, playdates, and transitions to / from after school activities and sports.
  • Basic daily meal prep and light cooking for the boys is required for this role.
  • The parents value honesty, discretion and punctuality and surrounding their boys with strong role models.
  • Candidates who enjoy educational play, love to explore/plan outings across the city and can adapt to the ever evolving schedules of boys will be a great match for this family!
  • Location: Chelsea, NY Start date: no later than early July 2026 Days/times: Guaranteed 30hrs/ week, Monday through Friday, general hours to land between 12.30pm - 6.30pm.
  • Ability to flex to full time (8.30am - 6.30pm) days/weeks as needed with advance notice (scheduled days off from school, some weeks during the summer when boys are not in camp).
  • No travel or weekends expected with this role.

Children

  • Two boys (b. 2018 + 2021)
  • Conditions: $33 - $38 per hour
  • plus unlimited monthly OMNY card, sick/personal days, public holidays and at least two weeks paid leave per year. Family is willing to offer a healthcare stipend for their ideal candidate and is open to interviewing exceptional candidates above their advertised rate.
