The teacher is responsible for instructing middle school students in mathematics while supporting the Catholic mission of the school. They must prepare lesson plans, manage the classroom effectively, and participate in school religious and service-related activities.
Candidates must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and maintain a valid Florida Professional Educator certification. A practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred, and the candidate must pass a criminal background check.
DIOCESE OF ST. AUGUSTINE SAN JOSE CATHOLIC SCHOOL TEACHER - MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH FLSA: Exempt Reports to: Principal
Under the direction of the school principal, is responsible for supporting the Diocese of St. Augustine in its mission to educate, evangelize and catechize youth in a Catholic school environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
