Job description

Are you an energetic educator who loves sparking curiosity in children? RAFT is seeking a STEAM Camp Enrichment Teacher to bring our hands-on curriculum to life and create memorable learning experiences for campers. Working alongside staff counselors, you’ll deliver fun, interactive lessons that promote teamwork, creativity, and a love for learning.

  • What You’ll Do Deliver RAFT’s engaging STEAM curriculum, adapting activities as needed to maximize camper participation and excitement.
  • Lead a classroom of up to 24 campers and coordinate activities for larger groups (up to 200 students), ensuring a positive, collaborative, and well-managed environment.
  • Complete at least 9 hours of onboarding, professional development, and staff meetings before camp begins.
  • Keep classrooms clean, organized, and welcoming by modeling and encouraging good habits of tidiness.
  • Work with minimal supervision from the Site Director while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Participate in after-camp debrief sessions and surveys to share feedback and support continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to 1–2 staff members assisting with learning activities.

Most shifts are scheduled in the afternoon (approximately 12

00–4:30 p.m.), though exact hours may vary by location.

  • What We’re Looking For Genuine interest in working with young children in a K–5 educational setting.
  • Availability to commit to at least one week, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to quickly learn and facilitate new materials.
  • Creative, patient, and positive demeanor.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must obtain TB Risk Assessment and fingerprint clearance (covered by RAFT).
  • High school diploma required.

Preferred

Enrollment in an Early Childhood Education or teacher credential program. At least one year of experience leading educational activities or managing student programs.
