As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA Schedule: 10 hours, 2 session a week for 1hr and 15mins Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Valid teaching credential required Strong special education (SPED) background with experience supporting students with autism and behavioral needs Experience implementing positive behavior intervention and reinforcement strategies Skilled in foundational literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, and early reading comprehension Experience teaching foundational math concepts using concrete and conceptual approaches Familiarity with fine motor and handwriting support strategies Knowledge of multi-sensory and interactive teaching methods Patient, calm, structured, and highly engaging Comfortable using token boards, reward systems, and visual supports Able to conduct an academic assessment to guide instruction and monitor progress Key Responsibilities: Conduct an initial tutor assessment to determine current academic levels and instructional priorities Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy, including phonics, phonemic awareness, sight words, and reading comprehension Support conceptual understanding in math, particularly addition, subtraction, counting, and number sense Help strengthen language development and sentence formation by building meaningful connections between vocabulary and actions Support writing and fine motor development through tracing, guided writing, and structured activities Implement multisensory instruction using visuals, music, videos, games, and interactive educational tools Use structured routines, token boards, and positive reinforcement systems to increase participation and engagement Apply calm and proactive behavior support strategies during challenging moments Incorporate the student’s interests, especially music and Cocomelon-themed activities, to increase motivation and participation Maintain a highly structured, patient, and supportive learning environment Collaborate with caregivers and related service providers as needed to support consistency across settings Track progress and adjust instructional approaches based on student response and growth Why Tutor Me Education?
