As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Salinas, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Salinas, CA Schedule: 15 hours per month, 3x a week for 1hr 15mins per session Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Experience working with young learners, particularly students with Autism, speech delays, or sensory processing needs Strong background in early literacy, foundational math, and kindergarten readiness skills Comfortable supporting emerging readers with fluency, comprehension, sight words, and confidence building Experience providing handwriting and fine motor support through structured, hands-on activities Patient, calm, and comfortable providing frequent redirection and positive reinforcement Familiar with sensory regulation strategies and supporting students with sensory-seeking behaviors Able to use visual, interactive, and multisensory teaching strategies Comfortable supporting communication and language development during academic activities Skilled at creating engaging, age-appropriate lessons tailored to a student's developmental level Able to incorporate student interests and preferred activities to maintain motivation and participation Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized instruction focused on kindergarten readiness and foundational academic skills Support emerging reading skills, including fluency, comprehension, sight word recognition, and confidence building Reinforce foundational math concepts including counting, number awareness, and early mathematical skills Provide handwriting instruction and fine motor support, including pencil control and guided writing activities Incorporate language and communication opportunities throughout lessons Support focus, frustration tolerance, sensory regulation, and positive learning behaviors Use visual supports, hands-on activities, repetition, and interactive instruction to reinforce learning Provide consistent redirection and structured routines to help maintain engagement Incorporate interests such as water play, outdoor activities, coloring, tablets, and visual activities when appropriate Coordinate instruction around the student's summer school schedule as needed Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on the student's developmental and academic needs Create a positive, supportive learning environment that builds confidence and prepares the student for kindergarten Why Tutor Me Education?
