As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Fontana, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Fontana, CA Schedule: 15 hours a month, 2 sessions a week for 2 hours (note that some sessions might have to be a bit shorter to not go over hours) Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: English/Spanish bilingual tutor required Experience supporting students with Down Syndrome and/or developmental disabilities Strong background in foundational reading and math instruction Skilled in teaching early literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, syllable blending, decoding, and reading full words Patient, engaging, and highly skilled at motivating students who may require repetition and frequent reinforcement Experience creating individualized, student-centered learning activities Able to use visual, hands-on, and multisensory teaching strategies Comfortable providing homework support and reinforcing skills across academic areas Strong rapport-building skills and a positive, encouraging personality Able to incorporate student interests into lessons to increase motivation and participation Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized instruction focused on foundational literacy and math skills Develop reading skills with an emphasis on blending syllables, decoding, and reading complete words independently Reinforce phonics, sight words, vocabulary, and early reading comprehension as appropriate Provide foundational math instruction and homework support Use repetition, modeling, visual supports, and hands-on activities to strengthen retention and understanding Break academic tasks into manageable steps and provide consistent guided practice Incorporate motivating interests such as Avengers, trucks, and cars into lessons when appropriate Create engaging activities that encourage participation, confidence, and independence Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on the student's current skill level and learning needs Maintain a structured, patient, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic growth Why Tutor Me Education?
