Part-Time Prevention Educator: High School and Middle School Experience is a Must

Summers off and Work that matters

Are you looking for more than just a part-time job?

At PreventEd, our Prevention Educators don’t sit behind desks. They stand in front of classrooms, lead powerful conversations, build relationships with schools, and equip students with skills that help them make healthy, informed choices for life.

If you love working with youth, enjoy educating, value flexibility, and want a schedule that fits your life then this role was made for you.

Why this job is different

✅ Summers off. ✅ Be part of a supportive, mission-driven team ✅ Get paid to speak, teach, and inspire ✅ Build strong relationships in local schools and communities ✅ Perfect for parents, educators, retirees, or anyone wanting meaningful part-time work

What you’ll do

You’ll deliver engaging prevention programs to students. You’ll collaborate with a passionate prevention education team and become a trusted partner to school staff.

Part-time educators typically deliver 5-6 presentation per day you work (based on your availability and goals set with your supervisor).

You will

  • Lead classroom presentations and school programs
  • Build positive relationships with school partners
  • Work independently while being supported by a strong team
  • Document your work to support our mission and funding
  • Participate in occasional special events like health fairs or parent nights

Who thrives in this role

You might be a great fit if you

  • Love working with kids and teens (high school and middle school experience is crucial)
  • Are comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Are organized, reliable, and flexible
  • Have a strong work ethic and a heart for prevention and education
  • Enjoy being out in the community rather than behind a desk
  • Want part-time hours that align with the school calendar
  • What you’ll need
  • Associate degree or higher in education, psychology, social work, human services, or related field
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel within our 7 county region is required)
  • Basic computer skills (email, Word, Teams, data entry)
  • Willingness to obtain Missouri Prevention Specialist certification within 6–12 months (we help you!)

Public speaking, teaching, youth work, or community experience is a plus — but passion and presence matter most.

This isn’t just part-Time work.

This is a chance to

  • Influence thousands of students each year
  • Be a positive adult voice in schools
  • Grow professionally in prevention and education
  • Do work that truly matters on a schedule that works for you

If you’ve been looking for meaningful work that fits into your life instead of taking it over… you just found it.

Apply today and spend your days making a difference where it counts most in our schools.

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and life experiences. Our team values different perspectives and believes that a wide range of voices makes us stronger and more effective in our work. If you’re passionate about what we do and believe you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply — even if your experience doesn’t match every listed qualification.
