About the role

The successful candidate will plan, implement, and evaluate nursing instruction across online, hybrid, and traditional modalities. Additional duties include student advising, mentoring, scholarship research, and participation in departmental and community service.

The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time (12 month), tenure-track faculty position in the Holzer School of Nursing for in-person classes. The priority need for expertise is in OB/Pediatrics and Medical-Surgical Nursing. Academic rank (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) will be based on qualifications.

Rio is seeking an experienced nurse educator with a record of teaching in RN-BSN and ADN programs. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

The standard load is 24 hours per academic year with additional responsibilities to include student advising/mentoring, participation in departmental activities, scholarship/research, and/or University or community service. The successful candidate will plan, implement, and evaluate instruction using online, hybrid, and traditional teaching delivery modalities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned Masters in Nursing by the time of the appointment
  • At least two years of experience in the Nursing Field
  • Expertise and experience in OB/Pediatrics
  • Eligible for Ohio RN license

Preferred Qualifications

• Master in Nursing Education, Doctorate in nursing or related field, a minimum of five years of teaching, clinical, and leadership experience, and evidence of scholarship.
