Applicants should be capable and comfortable teaching Social Studies courses across our curriculum (extremely critical).

  • History and/or elective courses: Psychology and Sociology. We are searching for a professional educator to serve as a part-time Upper School Social Studies instructor. The Social Studies department is known for its collaboration, creativity, differentiation of instruction and assessment, and commitment to continuous improvement. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise students in the classroom, on school grounds, and educational trips Responsibilities Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of learning that helps foster students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development Provide daily instruction, including clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments aligned with ESHS’ curriculum and standards Practical technology skills, including using ESHS’ learning management systems (Blackbaud and Google Classroom) Demonstrate best practices in data-driven instruction, including inquiry and hands-on activities, demonstrations, lectures, and discussions. Communicate regularly with families to identify students’ talents, interests, and needs and update parents regarding students’ achievements and progress. Active commitment to enhancing our school community through involvement in committees and student life activities. Collaborate with school-based staff and the ESHS community in meetings, regular analysis sessions, and professional learning designed to enhance student's learning experience and increase student achievement. Other duties as assigned.
