Description The All Day 4K Teacher is responsible for the care and education of all children enrolled in the YMCA All-Day 4K program which includes wrap around care. Teacher must abide within the policies and procedures of the YMCA, State Licensing regulations, and Stevens Point School district. The All-Day 4K Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum and providing a safe and healthy learning environment.
Position requires meeting the qualifications for child care teacher under DCF 251 Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers and experience working with children ages 2½ -5, and their families. A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood is required. This position requires creativity, flexibility, high energy levels, patience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work as a team. CPR w/AED and First Aid certification is a prerequisite of hire, but will allow 60 days post-hire to obtain.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Applicant must be able to observe children by sight and sound and have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with children and adults. Must be able to lift young children weighing up to approx. 50 pounds. Moving small tables, chairs, and some equipment is necessary. Position also requires that staff person is active during entire class time. This may include swimming, running, sitting on the floor, and leading large group games.
