Early Learning Center Teacher

Department: Early Learning Center

Reports To: Early Learning Center Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

MISSION

The Liberty Christian Academy Early Learning Center (ELC) exists to support parents and guardians in their Biblical responsibility to nurture and train their children. Thus, the ELC provides a secure, loving, Christ-centered environment focused on meeting each child’s social, academic, physical, and spiritual needs within an active learning environment.

Position summary

Assistant teachers shall work with a lead teacher to accomplish classroom goals and objectives.

Position qualifications

  • Must be a Christ-follower.
  • Four-year college degree highly encouraged, but not required.
  • High-school diploma required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Experience in early childhood education environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem solving ability.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • The planning and preparation of daily routines and activities in cooperation with the lead teacher.
  • Support and execute activities that are deemed helpful and necessary by the lead teacher.
  • Supervising classroom control and activity in the absence of the lead teacher.
  • Continual personal and professional growth of a minimum of 20 clock hours annually.

Evaluation

The Early Learning Center Assistant Teacher will be evaluated by the ELC Director/Assistant Director each year. This evaluation will be based on the functions and responsibilities outlined in this job description.
