Collaborates with a co-lead teacher, grade level teammates and other Specialist Teachers in designing, planning and implementing social-emotional and academic curriculum Co-teaches and differentiates Reading, Writing, Word Study/Phonics and Math workshops Demonstrates integrity, patience, kindness, flexibility, sensitivity, and enthusiasm every day. Communicates thoughtfully and professionally with parents and colleagues regarding students needs, and development issues. Creates a pleasant, inviting classroom atmosphere in which children feel comfortable and secure, while also providing appropriate boundaries, routines and structures. Promotes student self-expression through conversation, play and creativity. Embraces and models our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Improves skill and knowledge base in current trends, research and methodology in instructional techniques, technology, multicultural content, problem solving and interdisciplinary connections; Establishes learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs, curricular framework, and knowledge of human growth and development; Prepares, administers and corrects evaluations and assessments, and records results; Supports differentiation in the classroom and is proficient in utilizing interventions to support multiple learning styles including, but not limited to, small group discussions, demonstrations, modeling, one-on-one support, and multimedia teaching aids to present subject matter to students; Evaluates student progress using appropriate assessment techniques; Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities; Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives; Confers with parents and students regarding progress; arranges and participates in teacher-parent or teacher-student conferences as necessary; Attends and actively participates in staff/faculty meetings (PLCs Professional Learning Communities as well) Shares supervision of lunch, recess and carpool Shares writing of student progress reports
  • QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have: Masters Degree and/or Teaching Credential Minimum 2 years of teaching experience A strong desire to collaborate on a team and grow professionally Experience implementing Reading, Writing, Word Study/Phonics and Math Workshops Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and other educational technologies Experience creating curriculum and implementing project-based learning Initiative to seek out assistance and creatively problem solve as a member of a grade level team Ability to build appropriate relationships and monitor student engagement, safety, and fun Patience, flexibility, strong organization skills, and a sense of humor Other Responsibilities Attendance at various school functions Emergency team High visibility and student engagement Professional experience in progressive models of education and curricula.
