About the role

The Kindergarten Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and academically engaging environment for young children. Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, supervising students during transitions, and modeling Christian values.

Job summary

The Kindergarten Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, faith-fi lled, and academically engaging learning environment for young children. The aide assists with classroom instruction, supervision, organization, and daily routines while modeling Christian values and supporting the mission of the Catholic Church and school community.Essential

Responsibilities

  • Job responsibilities
  • Support the kindergarten teacher in daily classroom activities and instruction
  • Assist students individually and in small groups with academic tasks and classroom activities
  • Help maintain a positive, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and special activities as assigned
  • Prepare instructional materials, classroom centers, and learning activities
  • Reinforce classroom expectations, routines, and positive behavior
  • Assist students with organizational, social, emotional, and personal care needs appropriate for kindergarten-age children
  • Support classroom technology and learning tools as directed by the teacher
  • Maintain confi dentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with staff, students, and parents
  • Participate in school Masses, prayer services, faith activities, and other school events
  • Serve as a positive Christian role model consistent with Catholic values and teachings
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or principal
  • Job requirements
  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or parish setting preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions, support instructional goals, and work collaboratively with teachers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Patience, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Must meet Archdiocesan compliance requirements, including Safe Environment training
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates a warm, calm, and nurturing presence while fostering students' academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. This full-time position requires reliability, flexibility, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit in working with students, families, faculty, and staff. The Kindergarten Aide is expected to model Christian values, uphold the mission and traditions of St. Paul School, and contribute positively to a faith-fi lled school community.
