About the role

The instructor is responsible for teaching sports techniques and form to youth while maintaining a safe and clean environment. They must manage class attendance, evaluate student progress, and communicate updates to parents.

Job summary: Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Youth Sports Instructor will provide friendly,

professional, courteous, and prompt membership service to all members, clients, and volunteers of

the Y. The Program Assistant will ensure a safe, clean well-maintained and friendly environment.

Job function

  • 1. Program/Department Responsibilities
  • Instruction of assigned classes, teaching proper techniques and form of appropriate skills
  • To have good sports skills and experience of the class, gym and outdoor areas
  • To keep accurate attendance records and class records
  • To evaluate students ability level(s)
  • To explain progress and procedures to parents
  • To prepare gym/outdoor areas with necessary equipment/supplies
  • To maintain order and safety in class
  • Instruction of proper use of youth exercise equipment
  • 2. Facility/housekeeping responsibility
  • To clean area after class, reporting any damaged or broken equipment to supervisor immediately

Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years old

Knowledgeable about sports

Ability to work with people of all ages.

Knowledge of various sports and game
