Summary
Provide spiritual care and emotional support for patients, patient families and team members throughout the organization. Provide care and support in response to critical events, both patient and community based, in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to ensure emotional needs of all are met. Collaborate with CPE certified educators to support CPE students and their pursuit of formal training.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with psychosocial care team to provide appropriate spiritual care and emotional support to patients and patient families throughout the continuum of care.
- Respond to patient and patient family needs during times of crisis: code blue, trauma alerts, etc.
- Provide care to all patients at end of life and after death including collaborating with medical team and external organizations to ensure family needs are met, coordinating movement to the morgue and providing viewing opportunities for patient families, and completing appropriate administrative duties.
- Provide spiritual care services associated with total patient care in assigned care areas of the hospital; support chaplain residents and interns within the department, and participate in a variety of departmental programs
- Perform other duties and special projects as required. How You’ll Be Successful: WORK EXPERIENCE
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) 4 units Required

- Master’s degree (or equivalent graduate coursework) in Divinity, Theology, Philosophy, Psychology, Pastoral care, or related degree field from an accredited university or equivalent Required
