Full time Compensation Grade: 5S Pay Type: Salary Department: Sports Medicine Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Athletic Trainer to join our team and support the health and performance of our athletes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preventing, diagnosing, and treating sports-related injuries and, for collaborating with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Provide immediate care and injury assessment during practices, games, and events. Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including taping, bracing, and conditioning regimens. Create and manage rehabilitation programs for injured athletes. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatment plans and progress. Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, parents and medical personnel regarding injury status and recovery. Assist in coordinating physician referrals and follow-up care. Ensure adherence to NCAA, conference and institutional health and safety protocols, including concussion management, emergency action planning and drug testing procedures. Supervise designated athletic training facility, including daily operations, cleanliness, scheduling, and equipment upkeep. Supervise and mentor athletic training students and interns as applicable. Organize and participate in education and outreach efforts to promote athlete wellness, recovery and performance optimization. Assist the Director of Sports Medicine with developing and implementing Sports Medicine Department Policy. Assist in onboarding and training of new staff to ensure continuity of care and adherence to department protocols. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field. Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the BOC. South Carolina Licensure eligible Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer CPR/AED and First Aid Certification Strong interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Sports medicine or related discipline. At least 2 years of supervisory experience Experience working with NCAA D1 environment Experience with performance optimization/sports data analytics software Experience with functional movement screening tools and movement analytics Working Conditions: Must be able to lift/move equipment and assist athletes as necessary. Exposure to outdoor elements and varying weather conditions. Early morning/evening/weekend work is required as necessary. Team travel is mandatory.
