Position Title

Temporary Volunteer Cheer Coach Compensation: $1,500 per assignment Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Ops - Temp Start Date: 05/18/2026 About this opportunity: Volunteer cheerleading coach opportunity. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Assist the Head Coach in fostering a positive, safe, and enthusiastic environment for student-athletes. The Assistant Coach helps instruct cheer techniques, choreograph routines, and supervise team activities during practices, games, and events. Key Responsibilities: Instruction: Assist in teaching basic cheer techniques, motions, jumps, stunts, and routines.

Supervision

Monitor athletes during practices, games, and travel to ensure safety and discipline.

Support

  • Provide motivation, mentorship, and encouragement to all team members.
  • Practice/Game
  • Prep: Help set up equipment, organize cheers, and assist with sideline routines.

Communication

Assist with team communication and parent inquiries when needed.

Administrative

  • Assist with uniform distribution, tryouts, or fundraising.

  • Requirements: Passion for working with youth and developing athletic skills. Previous experience in cheerleading, dance, or coaching preferred. Strong communication and team-building skills. Ability to commit to a weekly schedule of practices and games. Must pass a background check and complete necessary safety certifications
