  • Category: EducationSacred Heart School in Rockport, Texas, is seeking a Teacher - Technology for the 2026-2027 academic year who is experienced as an IT and a Computer Teacher of elementary-age students. The desired applicant will be able to provide competent computer maintenance, engaging computer instruction, effective management of the school's technology, can collaborate well with colleagues, and can inspire students to hone their technology skills as lifelong learners. This position will serve as our IT/Computer Teacher and Grant Writer to support the technology systems, work with students in achieving computer literacy success, and write grants for the school. The ideal candidate will be committed to the mission of Catholic education and skilled in providing targeted interventions grounded in research-based practices.

He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.

Responsibilities

  • The list below reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the primary functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job. As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Continuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed Maintains the internet and server for the school Determines technological needs of administration, staff, and students; obtains bids from vendors and determines best choice in purchasing hardware and software, when needed Assigns email/passwords for employees and students Repairs technology issues or seeks professional when needed Sets up and maintains the Computer Lab Supervises and leads students in PreK-5th grade in computer instruction Maintains the School's website on EDLIO as required by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools Writes and submits grants as needed Performs other duties as assigned. Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more Ability to maintain composure under duress; maintain emotional control under stress Must maintain confidentiality QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education with 18 credit hours in Technology Applications and 12 hours in Education
  • OR valid, appropriate state certification or endorsement (*Education hours should include Technology Applications, Digital Graphics/Animation, Video Technology, Multimedia, Web Mastering) Ability to set up and keep the School's EDLIO Website fresh and timely Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Practicing Catholic preferred, willing to support the mission of Catholic education Valid Texas driver's license required Must be 21 years of age or older Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and keep records Familiarity with tiered support systems Successful experience as a teacher of elementary-age students (PreK-5th grade) or the desire to learn Experience as a team player with the teachers and staff Additional Requirements: Must successfully complete pre-employment screening including criminal history background check, motor vehicle record review (MVR), and drug screening Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office for Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources is required Must adhere to all Diocesan policies and procedures throughout the entire employment period To be considered for employment with the Diocese of Corpus Christi locations, all interested individuals must complete the online application at https://diocesecc.org/human-resources.
