As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic church Continuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed Plans for successful student learning of daily objectives that include basic knowledge and skills, and central concepts of the discipline Ensures students are engaged and successful in learning, critical thinking, and problem solving Able to effectively manage time and materials Maintains current records for student grades and progress Able to provide engaging instruction, possess a high level of content mastery, in the content of health careers including medical terminology, knowledge, and clinical skills related to electrocardiograms, phlebotomy, medical assistant, and patient care technician Able to work in collaboration with community college to ensure students receive required credits and certifications Perform other duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Nursing or Health Careers field or 24 hours in Health Careers content preferred; LVN or CMA would be considered 12 credit hours in education are required or the appropriate state certification Valid Texas Driver's License required Must be at least 21 years of age Special Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of curriculum, instruction and clinical skills in their area of certification Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, assessment strategies, and motivational strategies that promote authentic student engagement Planning and organization skills Effective oral and written communications skills and interpersonal skills with students and adults Ability to effectively embed available technology into daily lesson plans Additional Requirements: Must submit to required pre-employment screening including criminal history background check, motor vehicle check record check (MVR), and drug screening Complete certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources Requires adherence to all diocesan policies and procedures Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more Ability to maintain composure under duress; maintain emotional control under stress Maintain confidentiality ***In order to be considered for employment with the Diocese of Corpus Christi locations, all interested individuals must complete the online application at ***
