Position Summary

Instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for a primary school in preschool, daycare center, or other child development facility. May be required to hold State certification.

Requirements

Knowledge Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Psychology - Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Skills Basic Skills Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Technology Design - Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Systems Skills Judgment and Decision - Making Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Systems Analysis - Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
