Teach undergraduate Early Childhood Education and general education courses using various instructional formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Provide effective feedback to students to support their learning and overall academic success.
Requires a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, at least one term of teaching experience, and three years of professional experience in early childhood settings. Preferred qualifications include community college teaching experience and knowledge of NAEYC standards.
Position Title: Instructor, Early Childhood Education
This position will teach undergraduate Early Childhood Education and general education courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats using effective instructional strategies and technology Essential Functions Article 7 of the Owens Faculty Association Contract Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong written, oral, interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and the ability to integrate multiple teaching methodologies. Understanding of the needs of community college students. Ability to organize and present instructional material effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Blackboard Ultra, Owens email, and related instructional technologies. Ability to recognize student strengths and areas for growth and provide feedback that supports learning and student success. Minimum Requirements Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of one (1) term of teaching experience, including experience developing lesson plans and assessments. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in early childhood education settings.
Community college teaching experience, including online and hybrid instruction. Knowledge of NAEYC standards, accreditation, curriculum assessment, and program evaluation. Familiarity with Ohio early childhood licensing requirements and early learning initiatives. Experience supervising practicum or field experiences and supporting adult, nontraditional, and workforce-based learners. Union Position: Owens Faculty Association
