Job description
- Overview A warm, friendly family on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is seeking a highly experienced temporary full-time nanny to care for their infant son, who is 6-months old.
- This is an immediate hire role and will run at least until June 19th, but they would love to have the schedule go to July 3rd, if the candidate is available for that timeline.
- The family lives in a one-bedroom apartment near Columbia University and maintains a casual but organized household.
- They value professionalism, reliability, and clear communication, and are looking for a nanny who is confident with infants, proactive, and respectful of established routines.
- This role is ideal for a career nanny who enjoys infant development, neighborhood outings, and maintaining a tidy, well-run environment around a baby.
- The father will be on paternity leave until mid-April, and one parent will occasionally be working from home.
- The family has a very friendly 12 lb Golden Doodle and one American Short-hair cat, who spends the days hiding.

Responsibilities
Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for an infant Follow and support the baby’s nap schedule and daily routines Facilitate age-appropriate stimulation, social interaction, and enrichment Sign the baby up for and attend neighborhood activities (music classes, library, playdates) Daily stroller walks and outdoor time Comfortable walking the baby and the family dog once per day Maintain cleanliness in baby areas and shared spaces related to childcare Light household support, including: Running the dishwasher if needed Taking out trash when full Vacuuming to keep floors clean and safe for the baby Cleaning up after yourself throughout the day Baby-related organization and tidying Communicate clearly with parents regarding routines, observations, and developmental milestones Respect and follow household rules, while offering thoughtful suggestions and tips when appropriate
Qualifications
Strong understanding of infant sleep, routines, and development Experience with introducing solids is a plus (parents will handle feeding) Comfortable caring for an infant in an apartment setting Comfortable with pets and dog walking Professional, calm, and dependable demeanor Excellent communication skills English fluency required; Mandarin is a plus Proactive and organized; thinks ahead and plans accordingly On-time, reliable, and respectful of routines Comfortable offering suggestions while following parents’ preferences Cleans up after themselves naturally throughout the day Warm, friendly, and professional with a reserved but personable presence
