  • Summary: The Simulation Operations Technician assists in supporting the daily operations of the nursing simulation lab and task training room, ensuring a safe, realistic, and safety learning environment for ADN students. This role involves technical setup, maintenance, and operation of simulation equipment, as well as collaboration with faculty to deliver simulation-based education.

  • Duties: Prepares simulation labs and task training room for scheduled skill labs and scenarios including manikin setup/take down, task trainer setup/take down, props, supplies, and moulage. Operates high, medium, and low-fidelity simulators during student sessions. Assists faculty with scenario execution and debriefing support. Maintains lab and storage cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety standards. Launder gowns and linens. Ensure safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials. Organizes and restocks lab supplies such as gloves, syringes, fresh linens. Help students and faculty locate equipment and supplies. Maintains and troubleshoot simulation equipment, including manikins, virtual reality headsets, task trainers, and software systems. Performs routine checks and coordinate repairs or updates as needed on WOW computers, virtual reality headsets, Laerdal and Gaumard manikins, IV pumps, and task trainers. Assists in managing and ordering skills training inventory/equipment, simlab inventory/equipment, and student nursing tote inventory. Assist in recommending purchases for lab supplies and equipment. Assists in developing and refining simulation scenarios and documents. Supports faculty and students during simulation sessions, including orientation, voicing the manikin, and technical guidance. Assists in scheduling simulation sessions and managing the lab calendars. Assists in maintaining records of student participation, equipment usage, and learning outcomes. Supports accreditation and compliance documentation as needed. Assists in regulating UbiSim VR users and calculating yearly usage for contract renewals. Assists in developing simulation experiences aligned with accreditation standards. Assists in analyzing data to evaluate learner outcomes and satisfaction. Continuously assists in updating simulation activities based on feedback and needs. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Position Details
