School Nurse (K–12) Full-Time | Malden, Massachusetts About Mystic Valley Regional Charter School Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) is a nationally recognized public charter school serving more than 1,750 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 across four campuses in Malden, Massachusetts. The Kindergarten is located at 576 Eastern Avenue, the Lower School (Grades 1–8) at 770 Salem Street, and the High School (Grades 9–12) at 238 and 306 Highland Avenue. Drawing students from Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield, MVRCS provides a structured, academically rigorous environment built on high expectations, strong character development, and exceptional student outcomes. Position Summary

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly organized School Nurse to support the health, safety, and well-being of students across the school community. The successful candidate will serve as an essential member of the student support team, providing direct nursing care, health education, and health services coordination while promoting a safe and healthy learning environment. This position requires a healthcare professional who enjoys working with children and adolescents, communicates effectively with families and staff, and is committed to supporting student success through proactive health management and wellness initiatives. Essential Responsibilities Assess, evaluate, and provide nursing care to students presenting with illness, injury, or other health concerns. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and coordinate follow-up care as needed. Communicate professionally and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns, illnesses, injuries, and early dismissals. Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date student health records in compliance with state and federal regulations. Review, monitor, and ensure compliance with immunization, physical examination, and vaccination requirements. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies. Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, and families to support students with medical needs and health plans. Promote student health and wellness through education on hygiene, nutrition, illness prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices. Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide health and wellness initiatives. Ensure compliance with all applicable health regulations, nursing standards, and school policies.

Qualifications

Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Massachusetts School Nurse Licensure preferred or ability to obtain. Previous experience in a school, pediatric, community health, or related healthcare setting preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. Demonstrated ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications preferred. Reporting Structure This position reports to the appropriate school administrator and is evaluated annually.
