Job description
Sussex County Community College is currently seeking an adjunct to teach Foundations of Patient Care for our Fall 2026 semester. The course will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am – 1 PM. The course available is in-person on campus at our Newton location.
All instructors are responsible for teaching their assigned courses using a departmentally established course outline based on the master syllabus and assessing the course learning outcomes on the syllabus.
Qualified candidates must have
- A master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
- A current, active, and unencumbered license or certification as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- A minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience in a clinical setting.
Instructional staff must be current and competent in the certifications in the core curriculum objectives included in their assigned teaching, as evidenced by education and experience.
Prior Higher Education teaching experience and teaching experience at the community college level is strongly preferred.
The Learning Management System (LMS) that we use is Canvas. Prior knowledge of Canvas or a similar learning platform is preferred.
Adjunct pay is based on $910 per credit hour.
